To Heart ~Remember my Memories~ Extras pack

I know you're all craving for more Touka Gettan, and possibly more Strawberry 100% OVAs. I'm currently editing the next episode of those two projects. But To Heart ~Remember my Memories~ was originally going to be my first project. And since I've had the raws and subs sitting around for a few months, I wanted to release something for it. I'll probably get some more of Touka Gettan out before I launch into the main series, though. Let me know if you think I should do something differently on the karaoke fonts/colors/sizes, and also if I'm "doing it wrong" when it comes to the anamorphic scale compensation. (I set the Y scale to 91%, since the video is being compressed horizontally from 704 to 640.)

Batch (Nyaa) || Batch (BakaBT)

Extras include:

Included in this torrent:
Clean OP
Clean ED
Clean ED (Alternative Version)
Clean ED (Episode 13 Version)
Heart Fighters Omakes 01-07 [Contains some ecchi content, especially omake 7.]

Source: DVD (Zero-Raws, transcoded from .wmv)
Container: .mkv
Video: h264, 704x480 (anamorphic 4:3), 24fps*
Audio: Japanese, 2.0 Stereo AAC
Subtitles: English, soft, styled .ass.
Subtitle Source: Anime-Keep&Anime-Faith (OP/ED), yu (Heart Fighters)

*24fps is a bit odd, since 23.976 is the norm. However, I suspect that the raws were also 24.000 fps, since I didn't change any frame rate settings when I ran them through HandBrake. So it's beyond my ability to fix, unless somebody can dig up the .isos and encode new raws.

  1. Ahh, I promise, more Strawberry 100% is coming, I've just been crushed this week with random things.

Zalis, there is a really easy way to do the scaling with resolution resampling. Do everything with the script set to 640x480, then as a final step simply use the "Resample Resolution" option on the Subtitle menu option in Aegisub. Make sure to tick the "Change Aspect Ratio" box and it'll automatically scale your fonts and reposition all your typesetting.

  2. Oh Doh. Zalis I just realized you are using WMV raws. WMV is VFR by default, so you may need to create a VFR mkv using a timecodes file. If you used DirectShowSource to decode the WMV you simply changed the framerate, obviously this is wrong.

I think you can do it this way, but it's been a while since I did it:

You may not need to do this step, but you can extract the timecodes from the WMV using WMVTIMES.EXE:
    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=827302#post827302

Now create an mkv from the WMV using graphedit
(take the output pin on the file and drag it to an input pin on Haali Matroska muxer - Insert Filters > DirectShow Filters > Haali Matroska Muxer). If Mkvmerge can mux WMV directly now then you can just do that instead (it used to not be able to).

Run mkv2vfr (included with the package) which will create a timecode file and a CFR Avi. I forget which timecode file is more accurate (or maybe they both are).

Now encode your video from the AVI, then when you mux in mkvmerge use the timecode file on the video track.... and then you should be all set.

You can try googling for this info too, it's been a few years since I've worked with WMV.

  3. are you gonna do the series too? or are there already available dvdrips?

what about To Heart 2 :D?
I've had to settle for Spanish Hardsubs for it ,even though I barely know Spanish XD

  4. @Anon: I will do the series as well. I just thought I'd knock out the extras really quick in between other releases.

To Heart 2 has been subbed in English, albeit only as TV-rips. I'd like to do DVD-rips for To Heart 2 as well, but I haven't seen any raws out there.

@Maniac: Well, shoot. I deleted the original wmv raws awhile back during an HDD cleanup. So I'd have to spend another month (maybe) re-downloading them. Another issue is that my outdated PC struggles with VFR raws when loading them into Aegisub. Idk, I don't see major problems with jerkiness in panning sequences or OP/ED in the raws, so I think I'll just go with what I have. But thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to implement them on future projects like Pita Ten, which has half its raws in wmv/avi.

  5. Hopefully it converted cleanly to 24 FPS. It probably just had some duplicate frames knocked out (my guess is the DVD source was CFR), so most likely the only problem is that it converted from 24000/10001 FPS to 24 FPS. Not a big deal IMO.

  6. It appears that only the omakes register as 24fp. The main TV series episodes show 23.976 fps, so it seems like those went a little better.

Otoh, these Pita-Ten wmv raws I have, they're proving to be a real PITA...
